Men's Walter Dyer Leather Double Sole Chukka Moccasin Size 10 Made in USA!
Walter Dyer started making moccasins back in the 1950's and since opening his first store in Rockport, MA his moccasins have been a cultural phenomenon. By the 1970's, if you didn't own a pair of Walter Dyer moccasins, you weren't cool! Every moccasin is completely stitched by hand and whenever possible, no machinery is used. No insole or arch support was ever used. It is just you and the earth under your feet! Although Walter no longer makes moccasins, we have found a few pair that were made back in the day when times were simpler. Here is a pair of one of his originals. You may need to wear these mocs with a sock at first and maybe for only a few hours at a time until they break in. Once the oil in the leather warms up, the leather softens and molds to your foot. Mink oil, neatsfoot oil, or for that matter, any type of leather oil can be used and will help soften. After they break in, people have always said that it was like going barefoot. I hope that you get many years of enjoyment out of your new pair of mocs. Walter would say have “Happy Feet and Smiling Toes.” Once these are gone, there will be no more.
They can get slippery when the bottoms get wet so be careful when walking from the outside onto a smooth floor. Enjoy!
This is an original pair of Walter Dyer moccasins made back in the 1970's. This is a pair of Walter Dyer Chukka moccasins that has been oiled by me to bring out the natural oil in the leather. Since all leather takes the oil differently, you will notice color variations in the leather. It is made out of Foulds English Chrome leather and is very thick, long lasting and foot conforming. This pair has a double sole added onto the bottom for extra wear. You will get many years of enjoyment out of these mocs.
